When I look back at my life, there will be milestones that I remember. Among them the day that I was invited to become a Tennessee Squire. I was invited into this exclusive organization by an existing squire and new friend Beth Herman.
I was serving drinks at our house one night and asked Beth what I could get her. She replied Jack Daniel's (and I knew would be fast friends right away). When I asked her if she preferred Black Jack or Gentlemen Jack she was impressed and then told me she was a Squire. She later offered to submit my name for membership consideration.
Several weeks later I got 'the package' in the mail. I have passed the review, I am in! I now have my own plot of land on the Jack Daniel distillery property.
Now as the squires before me have done, I am proud to toast....

Congratulations! I have been a fan of Jack since my brother bought me my first bottle for my 19th birthday (legal drinking age in Canada) I never knew there was a "membership" until this past week whilew buying a few things on ebay someone was selling some memberships. Terrible that someone would get rid of an item of that magnitude.

I have been a Squire since April of 1980.
I have kept all of the interesting and fun correspondance and gifts that I have received from my friends at the hollow over the years, including:
Black eyed peas for good luck on new years day
Sassafrass root to make tea with
Invitations to coon hunts and other happenings.
A note from Moore county informing me that the taxes were due on my plot - and then a follow up message from JD letting me know the taxes had been paid.
I also received a personalized note from Herb Fanning, whom I had the pleasure to meet, telling me about the "new" Gentleman Jack back in 1988.
I drove down to the distillery and bought a bottle of Gentleman from the first bottling (in Tullahoma...) and I still have that bottle full an sealed today.
